Our Mission Statement

To promote and enhance the quality profession by providing support to our Section membership, offering information, educational programs and events, and promoting the awareness and value of  quality in the community.

In the Beginning....

On June 25th, 1946, a committee of the American Society for Quality Control, consisting of George EDWARDS, Andrew PETERSON, Ralph WAREHAM, Alfred DAVIS and Martin BRAMBAUGH, signed the Articles of Incorporation of a new society of quality professionals. The final act in confirming 14 local Societies (SQC) and the Federation of Quality Control Societies (FQCS) into the American Society for Quality Control (ASQC) — later, the American Society for Quality.

Meanwhile in Montreal, leaders of local Quality Control Societies – Ben LLOYD of Canadian Industries Ltd, Bruce LEADBETTER and John PRINGLE of the Bell Telephone Co. of Canada, Roger LESSARD of the École Polytechnique, N.L. MORGAN of Northern Electric and others decided to join the ASQC. And so in 1949, the Montreal Section of ASQC was born.
